Laura J. Brammer, O.D.
Dr. Laura Brammer joined Heart of America Eye Care, P.A. in August 2011. She provides primary eye care, contact lens fittings, low vision rehabilitative services, dry eye consultations and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients. She sees patients at the Shawnee Mission office and is dedicated to quality eye care in a friendly, professional environment.
Dr. Brammer grew up in the Shawnee, Kansas and was thrilled to return to the area to practice after graduation. She received her bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Kansas State University in May 2007 and her Doctorate in Optometry from University of Missouri St. Louis in 2011. Her clinical internships were completed at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Mo and at the Chickasaw Nation Hospital in Ada, Ok. In the fall of her fourth year, Dr. Brammer served as a student doctor for two weeks in Toluca, Mexico for a vision clinic providing free eye care and glasses. While in school she received the Kansas Board of Regents scholarship from 2008-2011, and was a member of the Gold Key Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society. She is a current member of the American Optometric Association and Kansas Optometric Association.
Dr. Brammer resides in Overland Park, Kansas with her husband and son. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending K-state sporting events and traveling abroad.
