Caroline M. Chang M.D.
Dr. Caroline Chang is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing in the Kansas City area since 1997. Her previous practice was with KC Eye Specialists and she joined Heart of America Eye Care in January 2016. She specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, seeing patients with medical conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, and cataracts in addition to providing complete eye care for adults and children. She performs small-incision no-stitch cataract surgery. What she finds most fulfilling about practicing ophthalmology is the therapeutic relationships she develops with patients in caring for their vision and eye health over the years. She is grateful for the referrals that lead her to care for families, friends, co-workers and neighbors of her patients. Her goal is to provide the highest level of eye care in a thorough, caring and compassionate manner.
Dr. Chang grew up in Houston and attended the University of Texas at Austin with a full academic scholarship as one of six Texas Scholars. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and then completed her ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and participates in the recertification process. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Chang enjoys skiing, cooking, hiking, biking, travel, attending the symphony and spending time with her family.
