Brenda C. Edwards, O.D. FAOO
Dr. Brenda Edwards is originally from southeast Missouri but has been a resident of Kansas since 1988. She earned a Chemistry degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1984. Her optometry degree is from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She was a recipient of the Kenneth P. Martin Clinical Achievement Award and a member of the Gold Key Honor Society for leadership and academic performance. She completed her residency at the Kansas City VA medical center in 1989.
Dr. Edwards has been with Heart of America Eye Care for over 25 years. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Optometry. She is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Edwards’ primary focus in practice is primary eye care for adults and children and specialty contact lenses. She also serves as a principal investigator for a number of eye research studies.
Travel is one of Dr. Edwards’ favorite hobbies, along with hiking, landscaping and time with family.
